Welcome back to school! I am so excited to be back teaching! I am even more excited to be here at Oakdale Elementary teaching first grade this year. I have been enjoying my time so much so far learning everyone's names and faces in our class!

     In Reading we have been discussing how to build our stamina and how to become great readers. In Math we have been exploring our math manipulatives (tools) that we will continue to use to help us learn throughout the year. Their homework folder will be used as a form of communication for us and I encourage you to send any letters into me inside this folder as I will be checking it everyday as well. I would like to also ask you to help your child read or let your child read to you every night and sign their reading log. First grade is a foundation grade for reading! Also I will be sending home some type of nightly math activity soon that you can also work with your child on. The more practice they have the better they become! Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns, questions about, or need  anything!! You may call and leave a message or send a note to school and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  I can not wait for us to have a wonderful year!!!!
